RB Padel on Ice

Frozen Portraits

This portrait concept envisions the players with a "cold" look and feel—capturing both the literal essence of ice and the psychological edge of a winner: strategic, determined, focused, and ice-cold. By taking hockey players out of their comfort zone to play padel on ice—or asking padel players to step onto the rink in full hockey gear—the portraits will capture that raw determination, adaptability, and grit required to conquer an entirely unfamiliar challenge. To achieve this visual narrative, the players will be photographed through a custom-textured surface, creating a realistic frozen window effect that frames their intense focus.

Production & Technical Specifications

Format Flexibility: The portraits can be shot in either horizontal or vertical formats, depending on the final media distribution requirements.

The Practical Effect: The freezing effect is created manually using a mixture of Epsom salt and dish soap applied to a sheet of glass. This mixture requires time to crystallize and must be prepared at least 24 hours prior to the shoot.

Unique Textures: Ideally, we will use a dedicated glass for each player to ensure every portrait has a completely unique “ice” pattern.

Location Requirements: The setup can be accommodated in one of the academy's offices. We will need exclusive access to one room to allow sufficient space and time for equipment setup and preparation.

Shoot Execution: The shoot itself will be relatively quick per player, depending on the talent's availability and pacing.

Styling (Optional): Additional "frozen" makeup effects on the players can be considered to enhance the look, though the core effect relies on the practical plexiglass setup.
